Bob's Flower and Hive Report

June 2014 Meeting

Hive Report

Plan to work bees in the morning. After lunchtime, the nectar flow slows down or stops. This means more bees in hive with nothing to do but sting. Keep a fresh water supply available to the bees. Beekeepers should be careful to stay hydrated when working the bees in warm weather, as well. After honey extraction, place the supers back on the hives for the bees to clean up. After a couple days, the supers can be stored until next honey harvest.
